"1847" barn is a 170 year old barn owned and renovated by Amy and Tim Anderson of Viola, Illinois.
1847 offers a true rustic barn experience and is available for party rentals and weddings. From hand hewn 25 foot wood pegged beams, it's saw dust center floor, or it's tin roof. 1847 transports you back to a simpler time all the while reminding it's visitors with it's patriot decor of it's heritage as an underground railroad stop.
Throughout the year the owners host invitational holiday and theme party's.
We are open for the season as winter breaks and spring begins in mid March to early April.

Amy anderson
Amy helps Tim with the building and also serves as event hostess for holiday, and theme parties at the barn as well as rental events. She would be happy to help you plan your party or wedding at 1847. She always finds the fun in anything and knows how to plan an event within most any budget. She will make your event a legendary hit at 1847, just as she did with "Boo at the Barn" 2016.

It all started when...
Boo at the Barn 2016 was our soft opening. It was a complete success and proved that our simple rustic barn coupled with attention to detail worked. "Boo at the 1847 Barn" is the largest Halloween Party between Chicago, DesMoines and St. Louis. 5 Alarm Audio & Entertainment provided DJ and MC services from the east loft stage. Later the Rock and Roll cover band "309" played from the west loft stage. Participants competed in costume contests and scary desert contests organized by hostess Amy. The event was a hit and is expected to grow yearly. Boo at the Barn iis an iinvitational event, be sure to contact us and establish a relationship with "1847", join our circle of friends, and request an invitation to gain entry to this premiere private event.
